Jakarta - To follow up on the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Ministry of Education and Culture with the Ministry of Religion and the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) on July 19, 2018 Number 73/VII/NK/2018, number 7 YEAR 2018, and number HK 02.00/11/2018, with that BNPT and the University of North Sumatra (USU) held a discussion of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on the Prevention of the Spread of Radicalism and Intolerance on Wednesday (7/4/21) in Jakarta.
The agenda of this meeting discussed the concept of PKS between the two parties with the scope including the exchange of data and/or information related to the recruitment of prospective USU employees and/or lecturers, assistance in the preparation of internal guidelines related to the prevention of terrorism, the implementation of education, research and community service, socialization related to the prevention of terrorism to all USU employees and/or lecturers, and other activities that can be implemented by utilizing the potential of both parties.
In the future, in organizing education, research, and community service in the form of providing materials and understanding related to the prevention of radicalism and intolerance which at least includes national preparedness and counter-radicalization.
The PKS contains 11 chapters and 15 articles, is valid for three years, starting from the date it was signed by both parties and can be extended or terminated according to a written agreement coordinated in advance by both parties, no later than three months before the end of this PKS.
It was mutually agreed that this PKS would be signed on April 12, 2021 at the University of North Sumatra.
