This agreement was made as a follow-up to the memorandum of understanding signed by BNPT and the Ministry of SOEs regarding the synergy of preventing terrorism within the Ministry of SOEs and SOEs on October 11, 2019.
After the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement, Boy Rafli Amar said that terrorism is a crime that threatens state security, a transnational crime, and is organized. As mandated by Law Number 5 of 2018, which is stated in Article 43A, states that the government is obliged to prevent terrorism. In prevention efforts, the government takes continuous anticipatory steps based on the principle of protecting human rights and the principle of caution.
"In order to provide a sense of security to its citizens, the state through the government is certainly expected to take total action in efforts to prevent and eradicate the virus of radicalism and intolerance, because this is the initial seed that exists in society, including in the work environment. Because this virus does not discriminate, therefore the state must protect all components that form the Indonesian nation, starting from the people, natural resources, and national values that must be maintained," said the Head of BNPT.
Furthermore, the President Director of PT. Angkasa Pura II (Persero), Muhammad Awaluddin said that the signing of this cooperation agreement was a new breakthrough for PT. Angkasa Pura II with BNPT, in carrying out preparedness including deradicalization, counter-radicalization, and terrorism prevention programs in the Angkasa Pura environment including the airports managed.
PT. Angkasa Pura II (Persero) is a company that is the main gateway for the country to enter world activities through transportation, so it is undeniable that vital objects and transportation facilities are often the targets of terrorism in Indonesia. For this reason, it is necessary to compile a standard operating procedure for security and protection in order to prevent terrorism.
"Why do we need to emphasize and convey this initiative at that time, because Angkasa Pura now manages 20 airports, as public facilities and gateways to the country, and inter-island transportation, so we realize that the activities managed by us must be free from dangerous threats," said the President Director of PT. Angkasa Pura II.
The scope of this cooperation agreement is:
1. Exchange of data and information;
2. Assistance in the preparation of guidelines in the internal environment;
3. Implementation of education or training;
4. Socialization of terrorism prevention; and
5. Background checks, and other activities that can be implemented further.
Closing this activity, the Head of BNPT hopes that this cooperation agreement can be immediately followed up with real action in order to prevent criminal acts of terrorism in order to protect the interests of the state and nation so that a sense of security is created for the life of society, nation, and state.
